We leave Cusco early in the morning for
a long bus drive to the trailhead Cachora Village along the
drive we stop in Limatambo to visit the Inka site of
Tarawasi a ceremonial place along the way to the dry cost,
then we continue and tough first time the Apurimac River and
Valley , after that bus drive up right to the Curawasi
village , second stop and visit to SAYWITE sacred rock with
several carvings, after we continue to Cachora Village start
point of our hike, easy hike to capuliyoc pass
(2,780m/9,120ft.) and the first view of Choquequirao ,
lunch with panoramic view then we descend to our camp
finally we arrive to Chiquisca
Day
2: CHIKISKA - CHOQUEQUIRAO
After early
breakfast we descend to Rosalina Beach, second tough of Apurimac River and
Valley, cross the footbridge, then zigzagging trail up to Santa Rosa, few
farmers leaving there, one of them with a rustic sugar cane distillery,
from Rosaspata we ascend to Marampata along the way we appreciate wild
flowers, many birds, orchids, after that a moderate class hike around the
mountain we arrive to our final destination Choquequirao camp.
Day
3
: CHOQUERQUIRAO - RIO APURIMAC PLAYA ROSALINA
After the
breakfast, morning
guided exploring the Inka city, we will visit the upper and
lower part of the site after a good exploring of the zone,
we start hike back down to the camp site for lunch. Then we
start to descend toward to the Apurimac river way back to
Cachora passing again Santa Rosa, we arrive again to the
camp.
Day 4 : PLAYA ROSALINA
- CACHORA - CUSCO
We ascend right to the Capuliyoc pass
last view of Choquequirao Inka site, after the pass moderate
class hike to get the Cachora Village, where we will say
goodbye to our wranglers, bus ride back to Cusco.
